Colette Todd - Singer

TEACHING Colette has been teaching for over 10 years and loves the challenge and opportunities which arise from it. She has taught singing in mainstream schools, specialist music schools and further education colleges.

Colette has also led Workers’ Education Association workshops in singing and been Musical Director for weekend and summer school courses in singing and musical theatre. Her students have ranged from 5 years old to 65 years old, all with differing goals and expectations of their progress. Many of her students have taken exams through ABRSM, LCM and Rockschools Syllabus she has a 99% pass rate. Many students gain merits and distinctions and all have found it a rewarding experience.

Colette is also keen to encourage lots of performing for her students and will try to find opportunities for concerts and competitions should that be something the student wishes.

Lessons can be taught on a 1 to 1 basis or in small groups, this is something to be discussed directly with Colette.

The emphasis of Colette’s teaching is very much based on her own training, and technique forms the groundwork of all her instruction. However, she makes the sessions fun and welcomes input from the students as much as possible. Having had such a varied career herself, Colette has a good grasp of most vocal genres and can tailor the lessons to the goals of the individuals.

The cost of a lesson with Colette is £15 for 30 minutes and £30 for an hour. Group sessions can differ, so please ask about these.
