Colette Todd - Singer

Weddings and other ceremonies

Colette has over 20 years experience singing at special occasion ceremonies, including church weddings, civil ceremonies, christenings and funerals.

A wedding is, of course, a very special occasion for a couple, and music can play an integral part during the big day.

Church ceremonies are often formal occasions requiring a classical approach to the music. Colette has a large repertoire of classical, religious and romantic music, which can be sung as entrance and exit music, or to create ambiance during the Signing of the Register. Songs such as Ave Maria, Panis Angleicus and Amazing Grace can be a magical addition to a service, but equally the couple may wish to choose something particular, which is special to them.

Colette is happy and able to learn new music to the specific requirements of the couple or talk through repertoire options with them, and also to help lead the congregation in the hymns.

Working with church organists or even sourcing harpists or string players is no problem for Colette - just ask!

Anyone choosing to have a Civil Ceremony will know that music requirements have to be approved by the Registrars and Colette has worked alongside many Registrars to help a couple pick or alter music tFind Us on The Bridal Fileo fit the day and stay within the rules. Many couples choose to have songs which have a special meaning for them, or indeed a whole ˜Song Story" to run through the ceremony. On these occasions, Colette has sung anything from Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen), All I Ask Of You (Phantom of the Opera) to Puccini's Un Bel Di (And lots between!) Colette can provide her own backing accompaniment; or if you require live musicians, she can source these too.

Wedding receptions

Music at a drinks reception or during a wedding breakfast can add wonderful ambience to the event. Colette has an extensive range of repertoire to fit almost any occasion. From operatic arias (O Mio Babbino Caro) and well loved classical pieces (O Sole Mio), to some jazz and swing standards (Cheek To Cheek, Moonriver), and some 'vintage' pop (Lipstick On Your Collar, All You Need Is Love, Venus, I Knew I Loved You), Colette can find the perfect mix of music for you and your guests.  She can be hired as an individual providing her own backing tracks, or can source pianists, guitarists, harpists etc.

Themed sets are also popular, anything from 1940s Hollywood glamour to Disney has been requested previously!

Christenings and other ceremonies

At these occasions it can be wonderful to have some special music. Colette is happy to put together songs which help to celebrate a new baby, and has some interesting arrangements of children's songs which can add some extra sparkle.

A funeral is a difficult time for everyone and yet celebrating the life of a departed one is so very important. Colette has an extensive range of music which she can go through with you to help find the right song choices. She is also able to learn music fast so if there is a special piece which would fit the occasion, she will be able to learn and perform it for you. Previous song choices have included anything from music by Handel to Andy Williams.

As all occasions are specific to the individual, it is impossible to give accurate prices here, but Colette's prices begin at £100 for an hour's booking. If there are additional costs, (for example, travel, more time, sourcing other musicians) Colette can talk through these with you. You can fill in a form on her contact page or ring her directly, she is always happy to talk with no obligation.
